U9s (Yr 4)

Our Under-9s squad is where the love for rugby truly begins to grow.

Designed for boys and girls aged 8-9, this team focuses on developing core skills, teamwork, and confidence in a safe, supportive, and exciting environment.

At this stage, players are introduced to tag and early contact rugby, learning the basics of passing, tackling, and game awareness – all while having plenty of fun. Training sessions are energetic and inclusive, ensuring every child feels part of the team, whether they’re brand new to the sport or already have some experience.

We welcome all abilities – whether they’ve never picked up a rugby ball before or have been playing since they could run. Our aim is to create an environment where every child feels valued, supported, and inspired to do their best.

We we focus on:

  • Core Skills: Passing, catching, tackling, evasion, and spatial awareness
  • Teamwork: Understanding positions, supporting teammates, and communicating on the pitch
  • Respect & Sportsmanship: Learning the values of rugby – respect for opponents, referees, and each other
  • Confidence Building: Encouraging players to try new things and celebrate their progress

Our Coaches

Our coaching team is RFU-qualified, DBS-checked, and passionate about youth rugby. They focus on positive reinforcement, ensuring every child leaves training with a smile and a sense of achievement.
