Our Under-8s team is where the rugby journey truly begins!
At this age, the focus is on tag rugby – a safe, non-contact version of the game that helps children develop agility, coordination, and teamwork in a fun and supportive environment.
We welcome boys and girls in School Year 3 who are ready to learn the basics of rugby while making new friends. Every session is designed to be inclusive, energetic, and confidence-building, with plenty of encouragement from our qualified coaches.

What your child will gain:
- Core Rugby Skills – passing, catching, evasion, and spatial awareness.
- Teamwork & Communication – understanding how to work together and support each other.
- Confidence & Resilience – learning to try, fail, and try again.
- Friendships – building bonds that often last well beyond the pitch.
Our coaching philosophy.
We believe rugby at this age should be about fun first. Our qualified and DBS-checked coaches create sessions that are energetic, inclusive, and full of variety. Every child is encouraged to try new things, make mistakes, and learn at their own pace.

Kit and equipment.
Players just need comfortable sportswear, trainers or boots, and a water bottle. We provide tag belts and rugby balls. Club kit is available but not required for taster sessions.
Why join the U8s?
Rugby is more than a sport — it’s a community. Our U8s team is a place where children learn values like respect, discipline, and sportsmanship while having a blast. Whether your child is brand new to rugby or already loves the game, they’ll find a warm welcome here.
We offer free taster sessions so your child can experience the fun before committing. Parents are welcome to stay, watch, and get involved in the club atmosphere
