Our Under 10’s squad is all about fun, teamwork, and learning the game in a safe, supportive environment.
At this stage, players are developing their core rugby skills – passing, tackling, running with the ball, and working together as a team, while also building confidence both on and off the pitch.
We follow the RFU U10 Rules of Play, which are designed to help children progress at the right pace. The game is adapted for their age, with smaller teams, controlled contact, and simplified rules to ensure safety and enjoyment. This means every player gets plenty of touches on the ball and opportunities to be involved in the action.
Our coaching philosophy is simple: fun first, skills second, competition third. We believe that when children enjoy what they’re doing, they learn faster and develop a lifelong love for the sport.
We we focus on:
- Core Skills – Passing, catching, tackling, evasion, and ball-handling.
- Game Understanding – Learning positioning, teamwork, and decision-making.
- Physical Development – Improving agility, balance, coordination, and fitness.
- Character Building – Encouraging respect, sportsmanship, and resilience.

Our U10’s are led by RFU-qualified coaches who are passionate about youth rugby. They create sessions that are engaging, varied, and tailored to different learning styles. Safety is always our top priority, and we work closely with parents to ensure every child feels supported.

Training and matches:
- Training: We train Sunday mornings, focusing on skill development through fun drills and small-sided games.
- Matches: Friendly fixtures against local clubs, giving players the chance to test their skills in a positive, encouraging environment.
- Tournaments: Occasional festivals where the emphasis is on participation and enjoyment rather than results.
